EVENT GOALS

To promote the use and development of open source software and hardware.
To promote the Mozilla Philippines community as the premier open source organization in the country.
To showcase Filipino-made open source projects (software and hardware).
This one-day event will serve as a “weather check” (experiment) on the current interest of Filipinos in open source. Is there a need to have a bigger open source conference in the Philippines soon?

OPEN SOURCE DAYS IN OTHER COUNTRIES

The Philippines has an annual Software Freedom Day.
Poland has an Open Source Day [https://opensourceday.com/].
Grace Hopper Celebration has Open Source Day [https://ghc.anitab.org/programs-and-awards/open-source-day/].
Italy used to have an Open Source Day led by Italian Mozilla Reps.
