Need to import code from jmatsci paper #1

Get code from jmatsci paper so we can import here and start testing/refactoring.

I have confirmed a 9am meeting tomorrow to get the code and data associated with the paper. No need for others to attend.

OK, the code is up at https://github.com/mp-interns/ga_optimization_ternary. We don't need to interact with that repo, i.e. you can just copy/paste code at will from there to this repo -- I just thought it might be useful to inspect its commit history if desired. I have also shared with people the raw data files (in db_setup/*_data, gitignored) via Dropbox.
