An ex parte order is an order that the judge signs without having a court hearing first. In %%[Court county MC]%% County, all PPO petitions are viewed as ex parte petitions. After you file your petition, the judge will consider it without a hearing and decide whether to grant you a personal protection order within 24 hours.
If the judge does not grant you an ex parte PPO, the court will either schedule the matter for a hearing and send you a Notice of Hearing, or it will issue an order denying the petition.
