Square Desk running in the background for a while. I reactivate it. I can click on any song in list. the title is displayed. When I press the play button it shows the lyrics page, but the song does not play. for patter the music the overall counter starts, the VU shows three dots highlighted for both channels but the music does not play.

Thanks for the report! Couple of questions for you:

re: When you restart SquareDesk, does it then play correctly? yes

re: Did your laptop go to sleep (either light or deep sleep) at any point? I am not sure if it did.

Gero5 commented 1 year ago

same thing happened again. After 10 hrs of energy saving /sleep mode SquareDesk doesn't play music.

OK, I saw this over the weekend, when I left SquareDesk up for a long time (overnight). It was definitely in sleep for a long time.

version 1.0.5 this happens permanently to me now. (Intel Mac) even after shot times of running it. I have SquareDesk running, I close the lid of the laptop. When I open the lid after two hours or so, no song is playing. the VU meter is dark now.

@Gero5 When you closed the lid, was SquareDesk playing a song or not playing a song?

When you closed the lid, was SquareDesk playing a song or not playing a song?

Not playing. Probably my last action was pressing Pause (Spacebar) before closing the laptop.

for instance I checked my playlist at home, close the lid, drive to the clubnight. About one or two hours later I open the laptop, I want to start the dance and it does not start playing music. everything else looks normal from the surface. It seems like the player cannot get access to the music data although the time length is displayed. Or like that the Mp3 decoder does not wake up after sleep mode? Changing to another song shows the same bug. restart cures the problem.

@Gero5 thanks for the details! The music data in this case is already in memory, so I don't know why it can't be accessed...we'll have to take a look in more detail...
