Searching, gathering video info are extremely slow #915

It's been a while since this has happening. Some modern distros I tested (Archlinux, KDE Neon. Currently using openSUSE Tumbleweed), searching can take upwards of 5 minutes to happen. Same applies for effectively playing a video once it finally searches.

Issue / Suggestion

I don't recall ever having this issue with the current version of mpsyt before. This is something I'm experiencing since the last month.

Your Environment

mpsyt version : 0.2.8 notes : released 17 February 2018 pafy version : 0.5.4 (youtube-dl backend) youtube-dl version : 2018.12.03 Python version : 3.6.5 (default, Mar 31 2018, 19:45:04) [GCC] Processor : x86_64 Machine type : x86_64 Architecture : 64bit, ELF Platform : Linux-4.19.5-1-default-x86_64-with-glibc2.3.4 sys.stdout.enc : UTF-8 default enc : utf-8 Config dir : /home/crimsun/.config/mps-youtube env:TERM : xterm-256color env:SHELL : /bin/bash env:LANG : en_US.UTF-8

same here, just wondering what can be the issue. I'm thinking what can help. Maybe changing API key ?

Migacz85 commented 5 years ago

Just checking that, I'm getting folowing erros: number 110, sometimes connection is just lost. I was thinking that my interenet connection was bad but it was fine.

Migacz85 commented 5 years ago

<urlopen error [Errno 110] Connection timed out>

BrunoDSL commented 5 years ago

The delay is actuality much longer than stated. From the point of executing mspyt from a video playback, searching and such can take more than 20 minutes. The issue doesn't seem to be related to the API key, as using mps-youtube's key on minitube works just fine.

I'm currently using KDE Neon (Ubuntu 18.04) and I can confirm the issue doesn't exist on the default repo version of mpsyt. However, the default version of mpsyt on Ubuntu 18.04 is 0.2.7.1
