This is an interesting idea! It'll also fix (well, workaround really) the issue I have with the current HideUI where it does not respect "Keep Tooltip" when looking through your bags (the item tooltip never appears, but if it's equipment the comparison tooltip(s) does show oddly enough). I believe you said it's because the addon can't hide tooltips that are generated after the situation kicks in or something to that effect.
