Actually scratch that - the new data contains the old plus a load more. And all data is georeferenced in the Hay 2005 paper. So update would simply be extracting further data, e.g. geographic coordinates.
Also look into each referenced study to work out which form of prevalence is being used? i.e. age range, micrscopy etc.
The study currently cited uses data that actuall come from an earlier paper here:

The earlier paper is probably a better source, and contains other information like geographic distribution that would be nice to include.
