KMPlayer/ZoomPlayer prevents P010 auto-loading #64

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I use Haali Media Splitter, LAV Video, FFDShow Audio, MadVR and of course
xy-vsfilter. My player is KMPlayer. I have all of KMPlayers internal decoders
and filters off.
2. Whenever I use xy-vsfilter instead of using KMPlayer to manage my subtitles
(but with lag and even more so in high quality 1080p 10bit).
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The expected video output
is P010. I see YV12 instead. It has no problem if I use KMPlayer's subtitle
thing.. P010 is enabled in LAV and xy-vsfilter.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? I am using
the stable release on Win 7 HP.

Please provide related subtitle script (if any). And the less characters
the script is, the less effort I have to make to fix the issue, so if you
could make the script as simple as possible, that would be appreciated.

I don't think the script is the issue.

Please provide any additional information below.
Mmm I'm a bit new to the this kind of stuff. Let me know what else I could add
to help you help me xD.

I have a little question: if you ever get "previous version + kmp" output P010
to madVR? I guess(hope) not, then it is not a regression (relieved...) and a
fixed version would not be available soon.

Possible reasons I see:
1) The "KMP Video Tranform" filter: it doesnot accept P010 input. You can
disable it though.
2) KMPlayer appears to use an video renderer other than madVR to connect
DirectVobSub first, though it doesnot really use that video renderer for
playback. Because of this video renderer xy-VSFilter reconnect the decoder with
YV12. I don't know any workaround for it.

Thanks for the reply. Um the stable release was the first version I used. I
tried older releases but they didn't work as well xD so you can be relieved lol
it never worked for me.

I have the transform filters off. I think it might be 2 or I'm missing a
setting =/. I used GraphStudioNext and it has no problem outputting P010 with
my set up (Haali->LAVV->xy-VSFilter->MVR). But strange thing is that if I don't
use xy-VSFilter it displays P010 just fine in KMPlayer.

Thanks, mm think I'll go take this issue to the KMPlayer people Dx.

Closing as WontFix, since this appears to be an issue with KMPlayer. The
KMPlayer successor PotPlayer seems even worse, and doesn't allow any version of
VSFilter (2.39/2.40/xy) to auto-load.

While we hope KMPlayer & PotPlayer will choose to fix their VSFilter woes, keep
your eye on Issue #40. Once implemented, it will offer an alternative way to
use xy-VSFilter subtitles with madVR which avoids DirectShow entirely.

The next build will include some additional enhancements to xy-VSFilter's
auto-loading & re-connection behavior. We're hopeful that those enhancements,
which should also increase resiliency, will workaround these media player graph
building issues when madVR is used.
