10 years ago It worked! Closing this ticket out since it's done.
Note: initially there was a "white flash" going from the splash screen to the regular web view background. I fixed this by adding the cordova splashscreen plugin as described here:

For now, this ticket is closed!
Just added native splash screen assets, now just need to test in binary to see if it worked...
