[BUG] ABL/UBL Giving Incorrect Values #1135

Closed 19Forty closed 11 months ago

Did you test with a precompiled firmware?

Yes, and the problem still exists.

Bug Description

When using the probe to level the bed, the it prints too high in the front right.

Sorry if this is my mistake and not a Bug.

Bug Timeline

First had the Issue in September, gave up and went back to stock. Trying again now - same issue.

Expected behavior

I expect that using the Tramming wizard and UBL/ABL would result in a consistent first layer. Like it does using Stock Firmware.

Actual behavior

It always prints too high at the front right.

Steps to Reproduce

In September I tried

I followed the suggested instructions to manually level my Bed and had much better results, however I was perplexed as Auto levelling worked previously on stock firmware.

I then flashed back to stock and leveling worked fine.

I flashed back again this weekend (Precompiled Ender3V2-422-BLTUBL-TJC-MPC-20230904) after replacing my extruder with a Sprite NEO SE and replacing my build plate with a better PEI sheet. Whilst the issue is less pronounced (I could print smaller things fine) it is still there.

To test I did the following: For these tests I used Teaching Techs First Layer Calibration tool and Printed from the SD Card.

  1. Printed with a probe at the beginning of the print - Issue occurs
  2. Printed with no leveling in GCode - Print was much better
  3. Trammed my bed manually with a piece of paper
  4. Ran the Tramming Wizard - it told me that my right side was too high by a fair bit.
  5. Ran the Auto Mesh Build - again, everything on the right is too high.

I then flashed to stock again to confirm and printed a first layer test - all good.

I then compiled a Version of the Firmware with UBL unticked in the configurator and tried using that, in case it was specifically a UBL issue. Ender3V2-422-BLT-TJC-MPC-20230904

It still is not level.

I'm an idiot and did half of my testing with a lose hot end. Joined Patreon as penance (and Thanks)
