For reviewing translations against multiple languages, it would be smart to use the free space in "Alternate language" panel to display messages from more than one PO file.
I notice that even by now it's possible to select multiple files in the select alternate language dialog, but only the last one selected will be displayed. In addition to this "hidden feature", there could be a table with multiline cells to display the messages from all the selected PO files.
I have once implemented something in the similar vein in my "massively parallel PO editor" [1]_. The feature's really useful if you happen to understand more languages than compulsory English, your mother tongue and one special foreign language.
