When translating a console application, it is often important to keep a
line in the default console width boundaries (< 80 characters).
This is currently difficult, as you have to copy the line you edit in
another tool to calculate its length.
It would be nice to have a display of the current cursor position
(including when the cursor is positioned in the original text),
for example in the status bar.
