Depending on the various options for version of matlab, OSX and Xcode the mexopts.sh file is an impediment to progress on many mac machines.

I suggest we loose it and rely on the one that comes with matlab. You can tell users to call mex -setup from the matlab command line to get the correct setup for their current combinations of software versions.
