Why does the AIR app require "unrestricted" system access? #8

I'm not familiar with the Adobe AIR programming API, so I'm not sure if
this is truly an issue or if it's just a misunderstanding, but... why does
the GMDesk app require "unrestricted" system access, meaning it can do
anything on my machine it wants? Why wouldn't it just need 'net access,
without any access at all to the hard disk of my machine?

Default with Adobe AIR

Sorry, Rob -- this is sort of a crappy response. So what if it's the default?
As
long as your app requires unrestricted access, it won't run on my system;
there's no
reason your app should require access to literally anything it wants to access
on my
machine, or at least you haven't given one.
