Preferences: Check for Updates #73

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Preferences windows was opened.
2. "Check for Updates" was clicked.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected it to check for updates and not close the preferences window.
Instead it Checked for Updates then closed the preferences window.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ReadAir.0.31, Windows XP Professional SP:3

Please provide any additional information below.
When you click "Check for Updates" it should display a Mac style loader 
(the circle thing that swirls around).

Here is a sample of a Mac style loader. If you need a different one or slightly 
different one just post a comment on this issue and I'll try and get one.
