Probably messed up with my backup #122

I may have made a terrible mistake: I backupped my Oppo with No encryption password, and now whenever I try to open the archive I can't seem to open it. Is the backup totally gone and useless? I'm so stupid.

mrrfv commented 1 week ago

It's not totally gone yet! 7zip, the utility Open Android Backup uses for archiving backup data, always enables encryption - so even if you specified no encryption password and pressed Enter, the archive is still encrypted, just with an empty password. See if that unlocks it. If this doesn't work, try entering a space, backslash (\), etc. as the key.

generello commented 1 week ago

Neither of those worked... I tried "space", *,\,0,1,null,empty,-,_,. but none of them seems to work. Damn it, if only there was a way to see what 7zip decided to use as password...

Read down to the bottom of the thread I linked and give that a try.
