Ammo rack icon on standar wehicle markers #618

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I have xvm installed, and I use the standard client markers. I noticed, that
whenever I destroy an ammo rack, no damage is displayed on the screen (neither
the ammo rack icon, nor any damage value), the enemy tank's health simply
disappear (the damage is still show for a bit, I destroy it with a normal shot,
as it should), and I only see that I destroyed the ammo rack, from the hit log.
I tried to see, if other users have the same issue, but could not find any
video on youtube, with someone using xvm, standard markers, and makes an ammo
rack.

I checked, ammo racks display properly with mods uninstalled. I only have a
zoom mod, and a gun sound mod installed beside xvm.

Thanks for your help in advance!
HunSid

Using standard markers mean deleted VehicleMarkersManager.swf file, right?

If not...
Remove all other mods and make sure you have setup config for ""blowupMessage"
with {{dmg}} macro in markersXYZ.xc files.
Like here:
https://code.google.com/p/wot-xvm/source/browse/trunk/release/configs/%40Default
/markersAliveNormal.xc#49

You need to edit all 4 files for markers to be sure.

No, i have the swf file. By standard marker, I mean, that I have the standard
client markers checked ("useStandardMarkers": true in the config file, which is
a checkbox use standard client vehicle markers in the on-line editor). What
this supposed to do, is to show the vanilla in-game vehicle maskers, which it
does, except for the ammo rack damage.

I checked with VehicleMarkersManager.swf file removed, the issue is still
present.
With XVM over target markers, ammo rack damage shows up fine.

I'm using XVM with '"useStandardMarkers": true' and the ammorack icon show up
as expected. Which config are you using?

I'm using my own config. I have found a way to work wround the problem though.
If I save the config with "useStandardMarkers" set to false, then set to true
again, then it works. If I make an other change, I have to repeat the process
for ammo rack to show properly.

Huh? Since XVM is only reading the config and not writing in it, what you are
doing has totally no impact on whether it shows up or not. Do you have replays
available to check ammoracks display?

Yes, to be honest, I only managed to make it work that way, with replays (I
noticed, it was not working again, checked on replay, did the turn off/turn on,
working again, never managed to see the ammo rack live). By the time I got a
next ammo rack "live", it was not working again. The config itself is not
altered between working and not working, or at least I'm not aware where.

I conducted a test today: All mods deleted, xvm reinstalle: Ammo rack working
on replay. Replay played again, ammo rack still working. On game played, replay
played, ammo rack missing.

I got a bit suspicious, and tried something. Turns out, the problem has nothing
to do with XVM. Ammo rack does not work in the game, with all mods uninstalled.
This possibility didn't even occur to me, when I encountered the bug. Sorry for
wasting your time guys!

Well I have this problem as well (actually had for many months), in replays i
can see the ammo rack icon, in live matches I can't.

Closing, since it's not our issue but WG's one.
