Interpolation and extrapolation #22

With matching outlines between the Regular and the Bold, we could interpolate and extrapolate Karmilla! I’d love to see a Karmilla Thin, a Karmilla Semibold, a Karmilla Black.

Since we're at it, I would also love to see a version with thighter spacing/kerning. It's sometimes a bit too loosely spaced for body copy.

A dedicated issue for spacing https://github.com/ms-studio/karmilla/issues/23

For interpolation, I suggest:

  1. Draw more glyphs, maybe we can imagine a more complete Karmilla before interpolation
  2. Solve https://github.com/ms-studio/karmilla/issues/23 (spacing issue)
  3. Tag and close issues (a milestone could be useful)
  4. Interpolate!
  5. Tag again, communicate the update

I hope you can use metapolator do this interpolation, as its a UFO tool :)

I am not sure about thighter spacing, as requested in #23. Being able to use Karla and Karmilla interchangably might be useful to some – without the text reflowing. (Imagine new users, having started a project with Karla, and then trip over its quirks.)

Also, spacing can easily be adjusted in the textprocessing application.

But I guess the issue boils down to the question if Karmilla should be considered a derivative of Karla, or something of its own.
