You will propose and conduct a research study to investigate a human-centered computing research question that you and your group articulate. This study may be descriptive, relational, or experimental (quasi- or full- experiment).
The timeline for sub-components of this project is in the syllabus. These sub-components include finding groups, completing IRB training, making a project pitch 5-minute presentation, completing all study protocols in the IRB format, collecting data, then analyzing and writing up your results.
Your project pitch slides (5 minute talk, every group member must talk) should include:
Your research question
A motivation of why that question is important to investigate
What type of study will you conduct to investigate this question (descriptive, relational, experimental)
Your hypothesis/hypotheses if applicable
If you have details of how you will conduct the study, list them now but a lot of details are not required. Tell us as much as you know so that you can.
You do NOT have to tell us your data collection instruments if you do not know them (for example, if you are going to do a descriptive study, we have not covered how to make surveys or focus group protocols; you do not need to specify this level of detail yet).
The more specific you are, the better feedback you will get from your classmates.
