In debian, what are the generic packages provided by sun-java5-jdk and
sun-java6-jdk?
Does debian now also have openjdk-[56]-jdk?

Hi Marius - answers from the person who re-rolled the .deb for me:

the etch java5 only (the newer packages look to be rather more all encompassing)
Provides: java-compiler and java2-compiler

openjdk-6-jdk is available in unstable and testing (lenny), but not in etch.

and the generic packages openjdk provides in lenny will be the same as in
ubuntu now
(in fact, the package is taken from ubuntu more or less)
I set it for etch to generic java-compiler now (without knowing if it will work
with
anything but the sun jdk)...
If anybody needs a 1.0.4 built to install on debian, let me know
