Email notification of item being assigned #12

I know this has come up a couple of other times with Leads, but I was hoping this link may help with a little frustration. It seems that if Salesforce uses an Apex trigger to reassign ownership, it sends a notification email regardless of the checkbox setting within Support Settings.

This may be why we're seeing this occur for Leads (and Cases for me). Off to try to figure out how to work around it, or at least to write some mail inbox filters to auto-archive the emails sent.

Hey there! Has anyone come up with a workaround for this issue of automatic email notifications? Our team is running into the same issue and would like the ability to turn them off.

I saw this on StackExchange, but haven't tested it out. The OP commented that the accepted answer doesn't seem to work.
