Font substitution #278

I believe rxvt-unicode is capable of using glyphs from another font when the
current font does not have them available, or maybe that's Xft on Linux, not
sure.

Would it be at all possible to do this in mintty?

I use Deja Vu Sans Mono, and it doesn't have Hebrew glyphs, would be very nice
to see them in irc.

Mintty doesn't have such a feature, but Windows does. Microsoft calls it "font
linking", documented at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/goglobal/bb688134.aspx.
As described there, replacements for each font can be configured in the
registry, at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\FontLink\SystemLink.
