unknown functionality of elements from system config page

II don't know what (if anything) some of the elements on the system configuration page are doing. Can these be removed? They are:

• alicat table
• wvfm data (are these duplicates)

The intention of this page is that they communicate with the config file. I can take them off temporarily.
