Pen carousel dimensions #1

Thanks a lot for the information, really helped me getting started with my HP 7475A plotter, also from Ebay.

While I'm sorting out some hardware issues, I noticed mine did not come with a pen carousel unfortunately From the looks of it, I can draw one up and have it 3D printed, but its hard to do without any real specifications, dimensions or close-up / detailed photos about the mechanism

Are you able to post some photos and/or dimensions of the carousel so I can make my plotter fully functional?

Let me know!

@gijsn Hi! hmmm, the pen carousel has very complex mechanical structure and it would take a lot of work to get the dimensions and necessary pictures to make it yourself.

I would suggest looking at ebay or asking in DrawingBots Discord (channel called vintage-plotters) to see if anyone has a spare one for sale. Here are some from ebay:

@msurguy Thanks for the reply,

That's indeed what I was afraid of. I'm still not scared to try modeling the carousel, seeing these astronomical prices for the rare part (costing about the same the original device). I'll see what I can do with existing footage. Thanks for the pointers!
