This is regarding msys packages, so pacman, bash etc
cygwin is planning to remove support for anything older than Windows 8.1 next year. Since we try to follow cygwin upstream as close as possible this means we will also drop support for Windows 7/8 sometime around the end of 2022.
[x] Print a warning message when starting an interactive shell in case of Windows 7
[ ] Finish https://github.com/msys2/msys2-archive so that users can continue using the last supported version for one more year, if they really need to.
Ah, I did not notice your last comment here, so there will be an archive - I was unaware of that. So my other comment in the related issue tracker is moot.
