Two or more DMZ IP's would that be possible? #905

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.I am wondering would there be an option for more DMZ IP addresses?
2.My VOIP requires one DMZ so I have none left for one of my PC's
3.it woul be really handy to have additional ones

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please describe the problem as detailed as it's possible.
If you have connection problem, then syslog file is required. (please do
attach it as a file)
Note that if there will be a poor problem description the issue status will
be changed to 'Invalid'!

No, DMZ host used iptables redirect rule, w/o VLAN.

You cannot have more than one DMZ IP as it would not be possible and defeats
the purpose of what DMZ does. When you DMZ an IP, it basically allows ALL PORTS
through the router's firewall to that IP. So if you only have one IP through
your ISP (which you most likely do), that is the ONLY IP you can open all ports
to.
EXTERNAL IP>ROUTER>INTERNAL IP 192.168.0.12 for example would be DMZ'd.
so if I accessed your VOIP say on port 34856 for example, the router would know
where to direct my request. Now if 2 IP's were DMZ'd and I tried the same
thing, the router wouldn't know which IP of the 2 was your VOIP server, and
which one was your PC.
