3G/ 4G USB Modem internet speed very low (Huawei E392 and ZTE MF190) #923

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect 3G/ 4G USB modem to USB port (Huawei E392 or ZTE MF190)
2. Use internet over wifi (2.4 GHZ/ 5GHZ)
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Speed should be around 6-7 Mbps which i get when i connect the moden to laptop 
directly.
But i only get 1 - 1.5 Mbps

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Firmware v3.4.3.6-064 with the above USB modems

Please describe the problem as detailed as it's possible.
If you have connection problem, then syslog file is required. (please do
attach it as a file)
Note that if there will be a poor problem description the issue status will
be changed to 'Invalid'!

1) Use NDIS mode for E392
2) Place modem to distance 1..1.8m from router (via USB2 cable).

Hi Andy

Thanks for the support.

Yes i had indeed used the NDIS mode and just tried with a long USB extension 
cable keeping the datacard fairly away from router..doesn't seen to help..  :(

Can you try connecting the laptop to router via  lan cable instead of wifi?
