Port forwarding for 80 doesn't work #955

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Port forwarding configuration for port 80 has been configured properly.
2.Try to open the pages with public IP and port 80 from outside.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The browser should be able to show the pages properly. But instead it shows:
HTTP Error 504, Gateway Timeout.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Firmware version: 3.4.3.6-064 OS: Windows 7 Professional x64

Description:
When I forward port 8080 to the same local port and it works fine. I search the
issue on internet and someone gives a solution for original firmware. Here is
the page for reference:
http://www.titam.ca/2012/04/setting-up-http-and-ftp-servers-behind.html.
However I can not find option "Enable Web Access from WAN" in the custom
firmware. Could you please add this option to make it working? Thanks.

For clarification: Are you trying to port forward for a web server running on
your computer or are you trying to configure your router from outside of your
network?

I set a web server up in my computer and I want to access this web server from
internet with port 80. To make it work, following settings have been done.

1. Change "Port of Web Access from LAN" to 8123
2. Add port forwarding to let both port 80 and 8080 point to the same web
server in my computer.
3. Config DDNS properly.

http://www.mydomainname.com:8080 can be opened from intranet and internet. But
http://www.mydomainname.com can be opened only from intranet. The browser shows
"HTTP Error 504: Gateway Timeout" when I try to open it from internet.
According to the solution provided in
http://www.titam.ca/2012/04/setting-up-http-and-ftp-servers-behind.html,
"Enable Web Access from WAN" should be changed to NO. But I can not find this
option in your custom firmware.

Thanks Dr.Sydorenko.O for your reply. I have tried the solution and it doesn't
work on this firmware. Since I have changed Port of Web Access from WAN & LAN
to 8123 and I'm also able to access router configuration UI with
http://www.mydomainname.com:8123 from internet and intranet, the firmware
should allow port 80 to be used for other purposes. This is a very important
feature for me. Could you please look into this issue? Thanks a lot.

I can not reproduce the problem.

Can your ISP disallow port 80 from Internet (some providers close ports like
80, 25, 110, etc.)?

Hi Dr.Sydorenko.O, I think you are right because router configuration UI also
can not use port 80 from internet. Please close this issue. Thanks a lot for
your reply.
