What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Unplug wan
2. Plug in a Huawei BM358 WiMAX usb modem

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Modem initialising in the log and attempting to connect

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ASUS RT-N56U/N65U custom firmware 3.X.3.6-066

Please describe the problem as detailed as it's possible.
I'm trying to setup the router to use the Huawei BM358 WiMAX usb modem. I have
it with VividWireless in Australia. I googled "rt-n56u bm358" and found this
page
https://code.google.com/p/rt-n56u/source/browse/trunk/user/usb-modeswitch/usb_mo
deswitch.d/12d1%3A380b?spec=svn807d07811d837710f21d1051de8f7a70262338b1&r=807d07
811d837710f21d1051de8f7a70262338b1

Which seems to show the bm358 modeswitch stuff. So I was hoping this meant it
was supported. Unfortunately when I plug it in nothing seems to happen. I can
see in the log it is detected and it runs the usb_modeswitch, but nothing after
that. no connection attempts or modems recognised. if I run cat
/proc/bus/usb/devices this is all i get:

It says "issue attachment storage quoata exceeded so I can't upload the syslog
so here's a pastebin of it http://pastebin.com/nVYWSH2J
Ignore the sdb1 disk errors I have 2 usb disks and unplugged one to plug router
in.

Just wondered if someone could let me know if I'm fighting a losing battle
please?

Much appreciated
Paul

Huawei BM358 WiMAX modem supported only in usb-modeswitch database (for
ZeroCD). Linux kernel not supported this device yet.
