This is a general, reusable function. Pull it out of dbcompile.c and dbcompile.h, and make it a common function.

Updated README with FAQs, install instructions, and some other content. Moved trim() out of dbcompile and into its own files in src/common/trim.c and include/common/trim.h. Closed by 3656a35c1c40c703363e0604b719dddb6286f301.
