DS Version gets stuck on "Waiting on WiFi" for long durations #174

On DS lite after start up it gets stuck on "Waiting on WiFi" when I was using with open hotspot from phone running android 11 I believe. It eventually connects if i leave it but takes anywhere from a few minutes to a long time (probably an hour was longest I've waited before I got impatient and gave up). I feel like away to manually connect to an available WiFi profile would be helpful in this situation.

Platform (please complete the following information):

Additional context Haven't tried with other access points yet besides android hotspots with no authentication

Thank you and good luck!

Really same situation, but I couldn’t be patient for that waiting time.

and also I tried patching DLDI to ftpd.nds for my flashcart but it’s not worked, even I’m not sure if it’s necessary step.

I’m wondering it’s ftpd’s bug for everyone, or just several cases for some people. (If the former occurs we need and want to fix it to transfer the files OTA)

If you know other information, please tell me :) Thanks!

Same here. Just did a test connection with Mario Kart DS and 172.104.88.237 nameserver, which worked.

Same issue here... I have noticed with this homebrew and dsftp (which actually works more reliably for me) that both need the ssid to be visible for them to detect it (nds games don't have that issue)

3ds user here on twilight menu++ r4 with both r4's + 3ds microsd access (no ysmenu coz I got r4i+ rts 3ds/ds www.r4ids.cn cart)

btw after the twilight menu setup that issue seems to be better if not almost fixed

i can confirm that twilight menu++ fixes the wifi conectivity issues, but i had to set up a WEP connection in the system settings through the normal launcher. i did also turn on wifi in twilight's "misc settings" but i dont know if that's just the led or if it actually controls the wireless hardware.

now it takes about 6 seconds to show "Started server at [x.x.x.x]:5000".

hi, everyone, I used to encounter this issue as well, stuck on "Waiting on WiFi"

However, even with the latest version updated by the author, the problem still persists while using TWiLight Menu++ launcher.

But I found that launching with unlaunch works fine, and the FTPD connection to Wi-Fi becomes very smooth.

P.S. my ndsi use WPA2 type wifi, namely the advance wifi setting, it works fine now, no need to find an old router to server the WEP type wifi now >w<

many thanks to this software author.
