I have extracted your second idea into a separate ticket. For you first paragraph: Do you know the Planner command in the action bar, that shows all upcoming instances of plans: The date range can be extended by clicking on the dates. If your idea is different from what this view offers, could you explain the desired functionality in detail?
Sure, this request has three components to it.
Firstly, I usually extend the range to the last date of the current financial year, and then I'll often extend to the end of the next financial year as well. Sometimes I only want to see a smaller date range like a specific month. Being able to set the first and last date of the range in a field or selection would make it less tedious to bring up all the transactions that changes would be made to.
***I'm on mobile, apologies if the formatting for the next bit is jumbled.
The hierarchy or flow might look like this:
-Select calendar year or financial year --- Select year number or current year -----(Optional) Defined range within selected year -----(Optional) Select Month or Week ------- Month Name ------- Week number -Defined date range (Start and End date)
That way the implementation I assume, would only pull in transactions from the local calendar between two dates.
Second, Within the now defined range from the first step, we could set an option to filter transactions by singular, multiple or All(Default) plans.
Finally, Within the filtered defined range we could have the option to 'select all' filtered transactions with options to Apply, Clear, Reset in bulk.
The reason for me suggesting this feature request is that although you can currently expand the range, it could be more functional. And also when wanting to apply transactions you have to long press on an instance and then click every other instance you want to apply individually, which can take a long time if there are hundreds of transactions. It is also error prone.
I have needed the ability to select and apply all transactions within a set range many times. Often I'm budgeting well in advance and I need to delete and reapply transactions when I've made changes to templates and plans as I don't like to make many changes to already applied transactions without updating the plans and templates that instantiate them. Also being able to filter the range by category, name etc, would also be a massive benefit. Perhaps the ability to Reset and Re-apply all current transactions of a template or plan after a change has been made could be considered as well.
I'm hoping for this suggestion to be considered in the road map.
