Focus issue on Wayland #160

Open Baggypants opened 7 years ago

Baggypants commented 7 years ago

I compiled 0.9.0 on Fedora 26. If i run it in Gnome on XOrg then I have no issue with the software. If I run Gnome Wayland then I can't click on any of the interface, or move the window. It seems like my clicks get sent through the window to the window behind. SRPM here https://therobinsonfamily.net/SRPMS/helm-0.9.0-1.fc26.src.rpm

I didn't have this issue with git shortcommit 352fba3

mtytel commented 6 years ago

Since this is the JUCE source you might want to take it over to them: https://github.com/WeAreROLI/JUCE

The focus issue manifests on Debian Buster w/ Gnome 3.28.1.

Applying the git shortcommit referenced by Baggypants does not fix the issue for me.

Ditto, having this issue with Helm 0.9.0 on Fedora 28 and Ubuntu 18.04.1. mtytel, are you suggesting this is a JUCE bug, not a Helm bug? I don't totally understand but I will try to take it up with them.

vblanton commented 6 years ago

JUCE doesn't support wayland and closed the bug. Unfortunate :/

Dang. Weird they would close it since they'll need it eventually.

I don't know if it really is a JUCE issue, since helio workstation uses JUCE and doesn't lose focus on clicks. I don't know how to test it, though.

Interesting. Same here. Helio Workstation works fine, wayland. interesting...
