after installing the chrome plugin is redirecting to github repo

It seems that you've installed this plugin:

Please read above link. I've already wrote to use getDisplayMedia instead.

Otherwise above plugin requires this script: https://github.com/muaz-khan/getScreenId and it works only on your own domains. Try it on any HTTPs domain.
