Allow changing item list colors #36

What feature would you like to be added or changed?

Options to enable changing the colors of the item list. Again, similar to
Total Commander or Krusader with emphasis on Krusader. It offers additional
options for Linux file types (directories, symlinks, executable, device files,
etc).

Are you referring to font color or background color?

Both. My preferred layout is grey font on black background with inverted
colors for the focus. In Krusader I would also use CLI-like font colors for
symlinks; (cyan: working, broken: red), directories (blue), executable (green),
etc.

From the start I wanted to create file manager that just uses system theme
since none of the other Gnome file managers do that. I can add options for
customizing look further although I don't know in which release. Many bugs and
more important features are missing (like multiple rename, find files, ftp and
ssh integration, etc.).

I agree. As long as the design does not hinder functionality then I'm all for
functionality and core features first. Thanks!

Krusader indeed has the best file list color customization config. But
actually, all I'd like is to be able to change the background color of list
items, including the row hint alternate background color, and the foreground
color.

Selected items, marked items, column headers - back/fore colors would be nice
to have :)
