Pop!_os results

Hi

you tested fedora, I tried a few things (still testing) on pop!_os 22.04, thought it would be interesting to see the difference as you tested Fedora. Hope it's ok?

Everything seems to work out of the box, for now, with following caveats:

• fingerprint reader
  • I'm amazed as this works in fedora 40, verified this myself.
  • Still haven't gotten this to work. Would be interesting to know what Fedora implemented differently, for now, I haven't been able to resolve this.
• stylus buttons (but I haven't looked into resolving this)
• auto-rotate, but this can't be a surprise.

When I find a solution for these problems, i will post an update. Probably will need to install Fedora again, for the fingerprint reader.

I really wouldn't recommend using an over 2 year old distribution release on practically brand new hardware.

• Fingerprint sensor: have you checked out https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/fprint for some testing/troubleshooting steps you could take (yes they should work even outside arch generally unless the steps are specific to the package manager, initramfs generator or similar)? the old Ubuntu 22.04 base may have too old of a fprintd version
• In Krita for example the stylus button closer to the pen nib performs an "erase" and the one further moves the canvas while held, are you trying to remap them entirely? Maybe https://github.com/sezanzeb/input-remapper would do the trick, haven't tried myself
• No one has yet taken a deeper into why /sys/bus/iio/devices/ only shows als sensors but is missing the accelerometer which will be required for automatic rotation, but that issue and some information is already documented on #2. I'll see what I can do myself but it could be a tricky one to solve compared to other stuff like volume buttons without keyboard case attached which I already fixed properly upstream and updated the instructions in the README
