'uncompressing base system' hang during step 2 of pentoo install #280

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download the Pentoo hardened x86_64 RC2.1 iso
2. Go through pentoo-installer update steps listed in 
https://code.google.com/p/pentoo/wiki/PentooInstaller
3. Follow installer through step 0 and 1
3a. In step 1 I used: 
    auto-prepare hard drive
    default settings on /boot and /swap
    / on ext3
    completely erase /dev/sda
4. Attempt step 2 - copy the distribution: 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
During step 2, I get a progress bar for 'uncompressing base system' that gets 
to 99% and then hangs there. It got to 99% so I let it run overnight and after 
13 hours it was still at 99% progress. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
qlist -Iv pentoo-installer = pentoo/pentoo-installer-20140331 
I'm using hardened x86_64 RC2.1

Please provide any additional information below.

Looks like issue 273 to me. Please switch to the console and check if any errors

I've gotten the install to work by literally repeating step 2 until it (A) 
copying the distro completely finishes without hanging at 99% and (B) you 
correctly detect a profile in step 3, which didn't happen in the first two 
times I got a completion in step 2 so I had to repeat step 2 several more times 
until profile detection worked.

I have a functioning install now.

this is fixed in pentoo-installer-9999, I'll cut a tag for the next RC but for 
right now it's fixed.
