Which mail domains do you have in mind? My first idea was that you meant to restrict to @*.uni-heidelberg.de
addresses only, but that would exclude e.g. undergraduates that do not yet have a university account (which occurs now and then, see #86), so I guess this is a reason why we shouldn't restrict mail domains.
If you had different intentions, please feel free to correct me :)
We can allow using non uni-heidelberg.de accounts temporarily. It might be possible to use the has_updated functionality to check accounts for non uni-heidelberg.de accounts and lock them afterwards
I think, half a year is enough time to obtain a university account. But it should be possible to allow users to extend this expiration date for people, who really need access, but will not be able to get a university account
Don't forget about @uni-heidelberg.de
, @uni-hd.de
, @*.uni-hd.de
;)
I would just check, if the suffix is [.@]uni-heidelberg.de or [.@]uni-hd.de
I agree. From time to time students complain that they did not receive important information. In all cases so far, these students did not use their stud-account but something like yahoo or gmx.
There should be a possibility to allow only specified mail domains for registration.
