Hide attached datepicker by clicking outside of it

Sometimes, I click in an input only to realise I don't want to set a date/time. The problem now is, I can't get the picker to close because:

• there is no close button
• it doesn't close when clicking outside of it (ie. as does work in a colorbox)

I would like being able to close the picker without choosing a date/time.
