edit 1 n/!@#$!@#$!@#!@#!@# n/validname will change the name of the patient to valid name and completely ignore the invalid name given at the front. Perhaps this can be stated in the UG.

This is an intended behavior. It is clearly stated in the User Guide that if a parameter is expected only once in the command, but you specified it multiple times, only the last occurrence of the parameter will be taken.
