1 year ago Twitch Adblock blocks ads on Twitch by switching to an ad-free version of the stream at 480p during the ad-time and automatically switches back to the original video quality after the ad-time is over.
Could be caused by this
The setting for "proxy quality" is set to None. Yet, occasionally, twitch's stream quality menu opens all by itself and sets itself to 480p. Even when I click on the quality I want in that menu, it sets itself back to 480p.
It was annoying when I had it set to Auto or 1080p, it's still annoying now that I have a slow connection which doesn't support more than 360p.
