[ Feature Request ] Inclusive Split Tunneling

Hello, I would like to suggest adding an inclusive way of split tunneling on the Mullvad app.

Currently, Mullvad only does exclusive split tunneling, wherein apps selected will not pass through Mullvad.

Use Case of Inclusive Split Tunneling

• Selected apps will be the only one to pass through Mullvad

This is a function for people who have the following setup

• Users who preferred SmartDNS applied via DoT / DoH on devices and only requires a VPN to handle traffic that SmartDNS cannot handle (e.g. Games, Torrents, VoIP, or applications that don't use DNS, and connect directly to IP addresses)

Why use a SmartDNS + VPN rather than just simply VPN?

• There are networks that don't do well with VPN, wherein it increases latency or reduce internet speed to a significant level when turned on despite all the troubleshooting done by the individual.

• While using SmartDNS via DoT/DoH, they still get the benefit of encryption with 1-5 ms latency and almost the original internet speed, however the trade-off is that applications who don't use DNS gets broken.

• A SmartDNS + VPN tandem is a potential solution to this issue.

On what platforms are you interested in this feature? Or rather, on what platforms would you use this?

This feature already has a tracking issue: #2808. So I am going to close this issue as it's a duplicate.

Please see my comment here on why this is not likely to land on at least Windows in the near term: https://github.com/mullvad/mullvadvpn-app/issues/2808#issuecomment-882594421. But we do hear that more and more users request this. So we will think about it and see which platforms it would be most interesting on and where it would be the simplest to implement.
