My iPad picks up my server HDD noises no matter the levels setup, so I decided to try to use external mic instead. Sadly, looks like it also forces my iPad to think I have headphones connected, so I have no sound at all when I have the mic plugged it. I've read it's somewhat possible to toggle that, so I thought to propose it as an option.
