Glide64 is no longer officially supported by the Mupen64Plus team, so you'd have to
contact the one who maintains the port.

As for Rice, I have these same issues as well. But there are more things apart from
what you posted:

-Certain textures, most notably bushes, appear distorted.
-When you die and the skeleton hand drops you down, you cannot see the squirrel tail
next to your life count in the top right corner. It appears correctly when you pause
the game.
-Specific rooms slow down the game considerably, most notably the very first room (after
coming back from the Spooky chapter) and the very last room (final boss). Incidentally,
these two rooms also exhibit issues in Glide64 and on other emulators.
-Sometimes the pause screen background is completely white, other times it looks like
static as already described. Glide64 shows the blur correctly.

And lastly, perhaps the biggest issue:

-Many shadows and light effects are not displayed at all. You can see this practically
anywhere in the game, even in the intro, but the easiest place to notice would be the
Rock Solid club.

That's all I noticed.

So I popped in my cartridge again to play the original, and noticed a few more shortcomings
of Rice:

-As a bat, the villagers do not glow red whenever they spot you.
-In multiplayer, the character does not flash/glow white after respawning.
-The caveman boss does not have his "bone" censored when you beat him. :/
-The N64 logo is partially clipped off during part of the intro.

If you want an advanced graphics plugin with such advanced features then you have to
support this campaign to reach more than 10000 dollar (7000 already gathered): https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/gliden64-graphics-plugin
