Emulation Error Running Diddy Kong Racing on Raspberry Pi

Describe your system:
 - Operating System (be specific): Raspbian/RetroPie 3.0 Beta 2 (Debian Wheezy)
 - Machine type (32-bit or 64-bit): ARMv7 (Raspberry Pi 2)
 - Mupen64Plus version: mupen64plus-libretro
 - Plugins used: none

For visual artifacts, give:
- game name and CRC/MD5 hash (printed on console)
- description of the artifact (missing polygons, flashing, wrong colors,
etc)

Describe the problem:
Diddy Kong racing, using a rom known to work when used on Mac or PC versions of mupen,
hangs at the rumble pak/controller pak screen. Everything works correctly up to that
point. The emulator doesn't crash or freeze, it just won't progress past that screen.

Please provide any additional information below.
Successfully played several other roms with this emulator without similar issues.
