NFTs to sell digital art #49

Holy crap, the CO2 footprint of creating that NFT was equal to an entire month's electricity consumption. Gnarly. One click on my computer practically rolled coal for an hour. 48000 grams of CO2. An hour of netflix releases 36 grams of CO2. Guess that explains why the Ethereum gas was so expensive. That amount of electrical power just to get it posted on their website for sale, when I already have the same image shared on facebook and my blog.. Because of how much ethereum gas that cost, to make any money on that NFT I have to sell it for over $100 ... and it's not possible to know how much that costs ahead of time... If I have to sell that image for over $100 to make a dime... no way.. that's a scam to whoever buys it, their money doesn't end up with me it mostly just pays the fee cuz I don't see selling that image for $100 or more honestly.. I'd rather try to just sell prints locally for 20 bucks or something, venmo me, y'know. Anyway, thought I'd share the experience overall.. stay away from NFTs ... unless you want to buy mine lol.
