Using drones, we first scan your property - using thousands of aerial pictures we are able to digitally re-construct your property as a virtual environment. This is called a DSM - Digital Surface Map. In this map all elevations and objects can be measured accurately within one inch - this is incredible that you can have a FULL understanding of every inch of a 100+ acre property or city lot, at what we believe is a low cost. We collect as much raw information as possible, and then condense it down into a human-readable 3D representation.
Once we have created an interactive 3D model that is essentially a virtual reality - we use 3D software for architectural visualization. Using your floorplan we place a 3D model of your building into this VR space in order to optimize the placement - you don't want to place your building somewhere that trees are blocking the view of the lake! We can pre-visualize what the view out of the kitchen window would be, at any proposed building location.
My goal is to organize your property information in a way that clearly articulates your goals, so that every contractor involved with your project can all quickly understand and perform their services without confusion. If you think of all the pieces of a ground-up construction as a jigsaw puzzle - our maps and models will serve as the table on which the pieces are put together. Many different contractors are typically involved in large projects, and having this information in a readable way will absolutely help reduce miscommunications and get everyone on the same page.
One of the main reasons that projects get delayed is confusion: so make the investment in knowledge! Think of how many extra times a contractor has to meet with their subcontractor when things are not clearly communicated. Standard delivery time for your information report is one week from the date of our drone flight. Rush processing for same day or next day delivery of your report is an option as well.
Standard Information included in your report:
Orthographic projection of your property -- this is your map created from high resolution images stitched together seamlessly
Modified ortho -- this is your map with added elements such as building location, electrical and plumbing line proposed locations - annotations specifically catered to your project.
Aerial Inspection notes -- anything noteworthy such as wildlife nesting sites, standing-dead trees, danger trees which might lean towards a proposed building location, status of out-buildings.
Geophysical information -- Measurements of highest and lowest points on your property, and information pertaining to earthworks and grade, such as cut and fill calculations.
3D files - These are finished 3D mesh files that you can view, explore, and interact with. I can provide a web-friendly and password-protected version of these files hosted on a webpage, so that anyone (who has the link and the password) could view the model on any computer or smartphone without downloading any 3D software.
Finish Carpentry, trim and cabinetry. $300 minimum. Inquire for hourly rate.
