Wouldn't it be better if it pronounced the Japanese words?

Because 60% of the users are Japanese and use it to search for English
words(J->E). Japanese pronunciation is also supported, but you need to install
a supported Japanese TTS engine to enable it. Details in the following blog
posts:

I'm using the android app which is in English and featuring a Kanji reader.
This I expect is geared towards non-Japanese linguists. This is the app that is
pronouncing the english words.

Funny thing is, your blog isn't even viewable with the android browser.
(Honeycomb)

Actually that's quite comical.

If the language of your phone is set to Japanese, the app will display in
Japanese. You are entitled to your expectations, but Japanese people use
dictionaries too, and need to look up kanji they are not sure about from time
to time. Same with native English speakers using the Oxford dictionary.

If you want to enable Japanese pronunciation, read the posts I linked and post
specific questions if you have problems.

I knew I was going to get a snotty response.
You've got problems, dude.

Nothing snotty about the response. The app is most popular in Japan, hence has
features that cater to Japanese users. On the other hand the feature you are
asking for is already available, you just need to enable it.

I want to confirm what the previous poster reported. Your Android Explorations
blog doesn't open with an android browser. I don't think you really read what
he wrote before you went off on him.

I was responding to comment #2, nothing related to the blog.

Blogger dynamic views are currently not supported on most Android versions. For
those, you should get the mobile version. The dynamic version may be displayed
on some Honeycomb devices, and you will get a message to open the mobile
version if the dynamic one is not supported. That is a known Blogger
(http://blogger.com) issue.

How can you have a blog called android exploration and it not be android
compatible?
Other blogger blogs are viewable on android so if you set it up like that it
was your descision.
As to the wwjdic pronouncing only english, I notice google translate for
android is the same. If I am trying to find the Japanese meaning of an english
word, I get a kanji, with no reading function, but I have a button to
pronounce the english word I entered. So I guess the presumption that Japanese
need a special crutch is universal. And there will never be responsible
scholarship as long as people bend over backwards to cater to a comic book
culture. Meri kurisumasu lol
Don't get in a huff, I think it's pretty funny.
