I have a vague memory that the only case where this might be desired is for some percussion. I might be completely wrong. @bkunda and @zac?
However, it would be still a big improvement to just make it so that tenuto does not affect dynamics. If we want to add specifics for percussion, we can do it later.
Zac says:
With this in mind, I think we should improve our profiles for percussion in a different release. For 4.0, we should just have a blanket rule that Tenuto does not affect volume.
@Tantacrul The problem is we have some articulations that make sound louder but shouldn't (e.g. slur, staccato etc.). So, this issue needs to be investigated more before fixing
I think this bug is perfect though because it cuts right to a specific problem.
I think issues with slurs should be logged separately.
I'm not so sure the issues with tenuto and slurs are unrelated. With a slur and no tenuto, there is no issue. With a tenuto and no slur, the issue is tenuto doesn't play at all, which is fine. Only with a tenuto and a slur does the tenuto plays way too loud:
Moreover I believe that tenuto and slur issues are related to this one https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/12830
Fixed in #13656
@abariska Please recheck in master later (if I missed something in Mozart score)
Thanks!
i AM SO HAPPY THIS IS FIXED. I DIDN'T REALISING CAPS LOCK WAS ON BUT I'M GOING TO LEAVE IT THAT WAY TO CONVEY THE MAGNITUDE OF MY HAPPINESS.
I KNOW, RIGHT?
Confirm, that the issue is fixed. Sounds nice :)
Describe the bug The issue is also reproducible for articulations:
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Expected behavior Volume of the notes with Tenuto and Tenuto-staccato is the same as for other notes
