Triplet rhythms don't work in 12/8 violin and viola parts #17098

Open BenignPigeon opened 1 year ago

BenignPigeon commented 1 year ago

Issue type

Playback bug

Bug description

The triplet rhythms in the violin and viola sounds aren't working in a 12/8 time signature. They work perfectly fine in 4/4 with triplet notations [as seen in the video].

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a score with a violin and viola playing continuous quavers.
  2. set the tempo to dotted crotchet = 128
  3. observe the bug

Here's a reduced copy of the score to see if anyone else can encounter this or if it's just me.

I don't see triplets in this score; do you mean the ordinary eighths? These seem to play more or less as expected to me - but not completely. The ones that involve repeated notes - like the patten G-Eb-G, G-Eb-G that occurs over and over in violin (starting in bar 3 for example), create a sense of being off a little, although it also could be a bit of an illusion caused by the rearticulation for the repeated note - the last G is cut short a bit, as if it were marked staccato. Is that what you are talking about?

I was looking if someone had already opened an issue about this.
